Colorado Springs Developer of Automotive, Medical and Consumer Product Interfaces Recognized for Growth, Innovation, Contributions to State Economy

Altia, an international leader in GUI design and development tools, today announced it has been named a winner of the prestigious Colorado Companies to Watch competition for 2020. The annual program, co-created by the Colorado Office of Economic Development in 2009, honors Colorado’s most innovative, visionary second-stage entrepreneurial businesses that also contribute significantly to job growth in the state.

Altia specializes in graphical user interface (GUI) development software and services for production embedded displays. Altia enables the creation of custom GUIs including instrument clusters, heads-up displays, vehicle infotainment systems and more, for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers around the world. It also supports the design of interfaces for many other products including medical devices, home appliances, exercise equipment, security systems and industrial controls, among others.

Founded in 1991, Altia maintains offices in Detroit, Germany, South Korea and Japan. The company moved into new corporate headquarters offices at the Plaza of the Rockies in downtown Colorado Springs earlier this year.

“Altia’s success has been due to exceptional engineering, design and business talent—resources we’ve been able to find in abundance here in Colorado,” said Mike Juran, Altia Chief Executive Officer. “Our headquarters in Colorado Springs not only puts us halfway between our largest customers in Silicon Valley and Detroit, but also guarantees our employees a quality of life that’s hard to duplicate anywhere else in the United States. Altia is proud to be based in Colorado, and deeply honored to be included in this year’s Colorado Companies to Watch listing.”

Colorado Companies to Watch, now in its 12th year, recognizes employers in the state that are actively growing their businesses and expanding the strength of Colorado’s economy. This year’s awards were announced on September 18, 2020 at a gala celebration. The event was held virtually.
