On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, NXP’s Kyle Fox, Director of i.MX Applications Processors, and Altia’s Aashay Yande, Senior Solutions Architect, will team up to present a live webinar, “Solving the Challenges of Integrated Cockpit Design with Altia Development Tools and i.MX 8” at 10 AM Central.

Registration for this event is now open. Here are the details…

The recent integrated cockpit trend continues to accelerate the implementation of multiple screens displaying high-end content on a single hardware platform. OEMs want to deliver a premium look and feel to their user interfaces (UIs) while ensuring a unified, branded appearance across all the displays. Designing and deploying this seamless experience across multiple displays brings a host of challenges to even the most skilled of engineering teams.

The expansive graphics content required in an integrated cockpit serves a variety of needs in the car, but it must be managed differently. Speed information and ADAS features found in the cluster, for example, must be fail-safe and separate from “connected content” like media and third-party apps found on the center stack. A multi-OS architecture allows development teams to make connected content available and safety-critical features secure. Leveraging a common HMI development toolchain across all cockpit displays is key to integrating a UI across multiple displays and OS platforms.

In this presentation, Altia will demonstrate how their HMI development software offers a common development toolchain for integrated cockpit UI and UX design for NXP i.MX 8 applications processors. Altia will discuss how their code generation solutions leverage the features of the NXP i.MX 8 SoCs to deliver cohesive, high-performance automotive cockpit HMIs for multi-OS applications.

What you will learn:

  • Features and benefits of NXP i.MX 8 series for integrated cockpit applications
  • Integrated cockpit trends
  • Altia’s solutions for integrated cockpits with multiple operating systems
  • How Altia optimizes graphics code for NXP i.MX 8 processors
